I'm a ComicGlass 4.7 owner and I would like to use it to wiew comics on my new iPAD through Wifi with files hosted on my personnal NAS (Synology DS2121j).

What is the protocol that your http gateway (mediaserver) is using to access to a NAS folder filled with comics files ?

File list is HTML.

So I need to buid an html BD file list with hyperlink for each BD file located in the Root of the NAS, yes ?

Maybe the best way is that ComicGlass support WebDav for BD viewing 'on the fly' : Most of the NAS on the market support WebDav ...

Any ETA for this suggested WebDav feature ?

FYI, "BD" means "Comics" :)

It works really nice :)

I just had to :
- Activate WebStation (WEB server)
- install your "index.php" file in the dedicated folder /WEB/ in the NAS
- Move my Comics folders inside the /WEB/ folder of the NAS
- Add a new Site IP (NAS) address in the "Download from MediaServer" menu of ComicGlass 4.70
- access to the content through Wifi on iPAD/iPhone to download the Comics on the iDevices !

Thanks again for the awsome support you provided on this request.

As an improvement: having the ability to read the comics without downloading in on the iDevice (read 'on the fly' through wifi) would be a really good improvement !

By the way, like "AcePlayer" on iPad,
if SAMBA protocol is possible in Comicglass,
I guess we could read comics without downloading it.

Yes, AcePlayer is able to play videos by streaming through Wifi because it uses DLNA/UpnP layer on the NAS. I tested it on the NAS and it works easely.
However, I don't think that Comics books can be shared with streaming feature using this DLNA client on the NAS because DLNA in only for video/music/photos files types.
I agree, having the ability to read the comics file directly on the iPAD without storing them on the iDevice will be heaven !

Hello to All,

Still about Synology NAS access for Comics/ebooks download through Wifi, here is another way to load files :

- Search and install the "DS file" app from the App Store,
- Be sure to activate "WebDAV" service on your NAS,
- lauch DS file app and fill the IP address/user/Password and tap "Connect",
- Once connected browse the folders on the NAS and located your files (Comics or ebooks),
- Select a file to load and load it with DS file (in its temporaly folder named "Local files"),
- Go to "Local files" folder in DS file and select the file you've just downloaded then choose to send the selected file to the app that is paired with (comicglass or apple iBook),
- The file is sent to the selected/relevant app library automatically !
- Erase the file temporally stored in the "local files" folder of DS file app,
- Open you ComicGlass or iBook App to see your updated library and start reading !

Hi. My comics are not in the same folder a index.php. How can I modify the index.php to read another folder on the same NAS? I tried also using symlinks and mounts, it is not working, the index.php is not getting the files.
